Securing WordPress with WP Toolkit
Learn how to strengthen the security of your WordPress website using the WP Toolkit in Plesk. This tool provides essential security features to help protect your site from common vulnerabilities and keep your data safe.
Applying Security Measures
- Log in to Plesk via your Zeniar Portal and open the WP Toolkit
- Click on Fix Vulnerabilities under your WordPress installation
- In the pop-out window, click the Security Measures tab
- A list of available security measures will be displayed:
- ⚠️ Items marked as recommended should be applied to improve your site's security. These can be reverted at any time if they cause issues
- ✅ Items already applied require no further action
- Tick the checkbox next to each security measure you'd like to apply
- Click the Secure button at the top of the list
- The progress will be shown in the bottom right corner of the page
- Once complete, a success message will appear at the top of the list confirming the changes have been applied
Fixing Known Vulnerabilities
When security vulnerabilities are detected on your site, a warning will appear under the Status of your WordPress installation.
- Click Fix Vulnerabilities
- A list of known vulnerabilities will be displayed. If a patch is available, you'll have the option to update WordPress or the affected plugins. If no patch is available yet, the update option won't be shown
