Connecting to Your Website via FTP-SSL

Learn how to securely connect to your website's files using an FTP-SSL client. Zeniar requires all FTP connections to use FTPS (FTP over SSL) to ensure your data stays protected during file transfers. This guide walks you through the process using Cyberduck, but the steps are similar for other FTP clients such as FileZilla.

Steps

  1. Download an FTP client such as Cyberduck or FileZilla. In this example, we'll be using Cyberduck
  2. Open Cyberduck and click Open Connection from the top menu bar
  3. Change the connection type to FTP-SSL (Explicit AUTH TLS) or FTPS
  4. Set the server address to plesk.zeniar.com and the port to 21 (if required)
  5. Enter the FTP username and password you created in Plesk. For security purposes, Zeniar does not allow anonymous logins — all connections must be authenticated
  6. Click Connect

You should now be connected to your website's files and ready to upload, download, or manage them securely.
